John Edward Deming

John Edward Doming, 74, died Friday Oct. 5, 2007, at Prescott Valley Samaritan Care Center. He was born Sept. 13, 1933, in Pajaro, Calif., the son of John and Mabel (Taylor) Deming.

John was a Chevron dealer for over 45 years, and long time Prescottonians will remember the Chevron stations that John owned and managed.

He collected western art and enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating, especially at Alamo Lake. He also could be found at the horse races and owned race-horses for a short time.

He is survived by his former wife of 51 years, Rose Marie; his six sons, John Mark (Carol), Howard Neal, David Wayne (Lisa), Jeffrey Owen, Raymond Keith and Paul Joseph (Kim); sister, Shirley Farmer of Brawley, Calif.; and 14 grandchildren. A daughter, Mary Eva and a sister, Helen, preceded him in death.

A memorial service to celebrate John's life will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2007, at the Heights Church, 2121 Larry Caldwell Dr., Prescott, Arizona.
