Aletheia (Pierson) Jones

Aletheia Pierson Jones passed away in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 99. Mrs. JONES was born in Phoenix in 1906 and graduated from Phoenix Union High School in 1924. She went on to attend Tempe Normal School which later became Arizona State University and graduated in 1926.

Mrs. JONES then began a teaching career in the Osborn School District that lasted 34 years. It was there that she met her future husband of 50 years, the late Verne JONES.

In later years, Mrs. JONES became an active volunteer in various organizations, including First United Methodist Church and Arizona's First Families.

She is survived by her son Jim JONES of El Paso, TX; her daughter Barbara ABROMOWITZ of Tucson, AZ; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held in Tucson, AZ.
