East Valley Tribune June 8, 2005 Frost, James Augustus James Augustus Frost, 89, passed peacefully on June 4, 2005. Born in Barstow, Texas, he moved to Arizona at age 3. He attended Tempe High School, graduated from Phoenix Union High School, and received a degree from Arizona State University. Jim was the manager of National Alfalfa Co. in Chandler, and later farmed cotton in Maricopa. He served as a deacon, Sunday School Superintendent, choir member and soloist at the First Southern Baptist Church of Chandler. He sang bass in a gospel quartet performing on a local radio station, recording several records, and was a founding member on the board of trustees of the Grand Canyon College. Preceded in death by Bertha, his beloved wife of 65 years, he is survived by son, Charles (Lynda) of Roseville, CA, daughter, Marla (Alan) EVERETT of Sedona, sister-in-law, Ethel FREEMAN of Mesa, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
