| Winterset Madisonian, Winterset, Iowa Wednesday, April 16, 2008 RUBY BENNETT, ARIZONA Ruby Christine Bennett, 87, of Chandler, Ariz., and formerly of Winterset, died April 8, 2008. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 26, at McLaren’s Chapel at Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines. Ruby Bennett was born May 31, 1920, in Van Meter to Herman and Mora (Armstrong) Jensen. Her marriage to Russell (Jack) Bennett took place Aug. 30, 1941, in Princeton, Mo. Ruby resided for most of her life in Dallas and Madison counties until her move to Chandler, Ariz., in May of 2000. For many years, she clerked for Harrison’s Dime Store in Winterset. She was preceded in death by her husband; a sister, Margaret Bell; a brother, Robert Jensen; and a grandson, Doug Bindel. She is survived by six daughters — Barbara Bindel, JoAnn Voss and Jackie Grisham, all of Arizona, Beverly Martling of California, Denise Creek of Iowa, and Cheri Gerrish of Texas; two sisters, Virginia Albert and Mackie Gillihan; a brother, John Jensen; and 14 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter. |
