Sandra (Chiono) Cornforth

Sandra Chiono Cornforth, 70, of Phoenix died May 4, 2004 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, and friend who was an inspiration to many. Sandra was born in St. Johns, AZ, the only child of John and Fay CHIONO and great-granddaughter of Arizona Pioneers. She was a 1956 graduate of the University of Arizona and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. She taught at Rose Lane School in Phoenix for 12 years. She was a past-president of the Phoenix Zoo Auxiliary and also a past-president of the Phoenix Cotillion. Sandra was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held various positions in church auxiliaries.

She was preceded in death by Wayne CORNFORTH, her husband of 41 years. She is survived by son, John CORNFORTH (Debbie), daughter Christie DELMARTER (Mike), grandchildren Carter PUNTURI and Kira DELMARTER and by a large extended family and faithful friends who loved her as family. Funeral Service was held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints, 8710 N. 3rd Ave., Phoenix, AZ. The family suggests contributions be made in Sandra's memory to the Arizona Cancer Center, 1515 N. Campbell Ave., P.O. Box 245024, Tucson, AZ 85724-5024. Arrangements entrusted to Messinger Indian School Mortuary.
