Frank E. Krause

Frank E. Krause passed away at the Prescott VAMC Hospice on April 16, 2008. He was born in Bochum, Germany, on April 13, 1921, to Frank Edward and Elizabeth (Steinforth) Krause.

Frank emigrated to the United States with his family and lived in New York City. He served as a corporal in the U.S. Marine Corps during WWII. He married Lillian M. Drollinger and then began a 40-year career as an insurance agent. He relocated with his family to Scottsdale, Ariz. He retired in 1985 and moved to Prescott Valley, but kept busy helping his son Bob with his battery business until his health declined.

Frank always enjoyed serving his community and was a lifetime member of the Lions Club. He was a member of the Melville Lions Club in Long Island, N.Y., and served one term as president of the Scottsdale Evening Lions Club, he also served the Prescott Noon Lions Club and attended various Lions state functions. He also loved singing especially with the Prescottones several years ago and at St. Germaine’s Catholic Church in Prescott Valley where he served as a lector.

He lived at the Prescott VAMC at the Extended Care Rehabilitation Center for the past two years where he received wonderful care from the professional staff.

He was preceded in death by his son Frank and brother Henry. He is survived by Lillian, his wife of 63 years; his sister Elizabeth Hensel of New York; son Bob Krause and his wife Carole of Dewey; daughter Mary-Lou Molloy and her husband Duncan of Prescott Valley; his daughter-in-law Susan Krause and grandchildren Scott Krause and Patricia DiBrico of New York; and grandchildren Jami Molloy Corser and Melanie Molloy of Prescott Valley; great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Christian Frank Dibrico of New York; and Skyler Molloy and Jett Corser of Prescott Valley.

Commemoration services in honor of Frank will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 23, 2008, at Sunrise Funeral Home Chapel, 8167 E. Highway 69, Prescott Valley, Ariz. Enurnment will be at Prescott National Cemetery with full military honors at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in honor of Frank go to the Alzheimer’s Association of Northern Arizona, 2225 Grove Ave., Prescott AZ 86301, or the charity of your choice.
