Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, April 20, 2008 Joyce Keimach Sherman, age 65, born Aug. 3, 1942, passed away on April 11, 2008, peacefully in her home in Playa del Rey, Calif., after a valiant fight with pancreatic cancer. She is survived by life partner Stephanie Allen; daughter Cindy (Brandt) Benner; brother Bob Keimach; grandsons Kyle and Dylan Benner; nephews Darryl, David, Jeff, Jon and Edward Keimach; and many lifelong loving friends. Joyce and Stephanie retired to Prescott from the Los Angeles area in 2004. They loved their home in the Prescott Lakes Cottages and particularly enjoyed attending many of the events on the square. They were proud to show their L.A. visitors around town and, in turn, their company expressed what a warm and hospitable visit they had with them. Joyce’s time here was greatly enhanced when her daughter and son-in-law also moved to Prescott and she was able to spend valuable time with her grandsons. She introduced them (then 4 and 5 years old) to fishing, ducks at various lakes around town and automated car washes. They also enjoyed storytimes at the library and Honey Baked Ham sandwiches. Joyce and Stephanie owned an RV and were able to fulfill Joyce’s lifelong dream of seeing this beautiful country of ours. They took several major trips each year, either to destinations across the country or throughout Arizona. They were also members of the Yavapai Winnies RV club. They returned to California for medical treatment at USC Norris Cancer Center in July 2007. Services were 11 a.m. Monday April 14, 2008, at Mount Sinai Hollywood Hills, 5950 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, Calif. Information provided by survivors. |
