Frances Faye Boyle, 96, born Feb. 4, 1912, in Mannsville, Okla., passed away April 15, 2008, at a local care home.

Services will be at a later date.

The family suggests memorials be made to Yavapai Regional Medical Center Hospice.

Hampton Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.

Our mother, grandmother and best friend, Frances Faye Boyle, age 96, went to be with her Lord on April 15, 2008. She was born Feb. 4, 1912, in Mansville, Okla., to Lewis and Vera Fortner.

Faye was one of eight children and was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers, one sister, and her husband Dick Boyle. She is survived by her brother Gene Fortner of Glendale, Calif.; three children, Faith Blair of Prescott, Richard Boyle (Donna) of Montrose, Colo., and Tim Boyle (Juji) of Japan. She had eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

Faye had many careers in her long and fulfilled life. First of all, she was a devout Methodist and practiced her Christianity throughout her life. She graduated from college in two years with a teacher’s degree and later in life got her nursing degree from Good Samaritan Hospital in Phoenix. She was also a student of the Sparten Air School out of college and flew the bi-plane. She was an avid swimmer and lifeguard. She taught swimming in California for several years before moving to Prescott in 1947.

She and her husband moved to Phoenix in 1956 where she was a nurse. She was a member of the Central United Methodist Church from 1956-2005 when she moved back to Prescott. She made flower arrangements for the church altar every Sunday as long as she had flowers and vases.

While living at the Beautitudes in Phoenix, she created a children’s garden for the pre-schoolers in the daycare center at the Beautitudes and maintained the garden till moving to Prescott.

Memorials can be made to YRMC Hospice or to the charity of your choice.
A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 28, 2008, at the Central United Methodist Church in Phoenix, Ariz. Her son, the Reverend Tim Boyle, will officiate.
