BABCOCK, Othel
Othel L. Babcock of Wickenburg died Dec. 26, 1993, at the Wickenburg Nursing Home. She was 76. Mrs. Babcock was born April 23, 1917 in Byron, Oklahoma. She was the youngest child out of 13 born to Charles and Ella States. A school teacher in Aguila for 11 years, she was a past president of the Wickenburg Business and Professional Womens Organization. Mrs. Babcock also was a member of the Reorganized Latter-day Saints Church in Glendale. She was married to her husband, Fred, in Tulsa, OK, in 1943. She sang in the choir at the First Presbyterian Church in Wickenburg and was a member of the Wickenburg Art Club. She was an artist who enjoyed sketching, oils and painting. Mrs. Babcock lived in Arizona for 48 years. Survivors include her husband, Fred W. Babcock, of Wickenburg; son and daughter-in-law, Rex and Terri Babcock, of Peoria; son, Ray Babcock of Albuquerque, N.M., and son and daughter-in-law Randy and Aquina Babcock of Wickenburg. Services will be ehld today (Wed., Dec. 29, 1993) at 2:00 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation is private, limited to the family. Elder Leonard Speer will officiate. Interment will be at the Wickenburg Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Reorganized Latter Saints Church Building Fund, 5035 W. Paradise Lane, Glendale, AZ 85306. Wickenburg Funeral Home handled all the arrangements.
