Alfred G. Walther formerly of Prescott, passed away at his home in Irondequoit, N.Y., surrounded by his family, on April 11, 2005. Al was
preceded in death by his beloved mother, Anna (Koehier) Walther. He is survived by his cherished and devoted wife of almost 60 years, Isabel
(Kranz) Walther; his children, Steven (Roxanne) Walther of Irondequoit, Michael Walther of Rochester, N.Y., Eileen (Stephen) D'Arienzo of Irondequoit, Damon D'Arienzo of Albany, N.Y., Eric Walther, Scott and Kevin Davis of Carson City, Daniel, Emily, Olivia and Lillian Walther of Escondido, and first great-grand-daughter, Abigail Walther; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Al was born lune 7, 1922, in Brooklyn N.Y. He was schooled in Queens, N.Y. Al and his wife Isabel were member of the first graduating class of Queens College in 1942. Shortly afterward, during WWII, he entered the US Army Air Corps, and served as a weather forecaster in the China - Burma - India Theater. He served an additional 36years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. In 1977, he retired after 32 years at Eastman Kodak Co. from the Paper Service and Research Divisions in Rochester, N.Y. Aland his wife Isabel were longtime retirement residents of Prescott and resided briefly in Escondido,
Calif., before returning to Irondequoit, N.Y. in 2001.

He was skilled in carpentry and home remodeling, enjoyed photography, travel, reading, community activities and the Boy Scouts. He was an active promoter of term limits, and member of the Air Force Officers Club and the Professional Engineers Society.

Memorial services were held Friday, April 15th, in the Chapel at St. Ann's Home in Rochester, N.Y.
