Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, April 30, 2008 Hugh Donald Johns, 72, passed peacefully from this earth to his eternal home with his Heavenly Father on April 24, 2008, at Samaritan Village in Prescott Valley. Hugh was born on the family farm near Sparta, Mo., to Ora and Frank Johns on March 11, 1936. He was third from the youngest of nine brothers and one sister. The family moved to Washington when he was eight years old. Survivors are his loving wife, Pat, of 26 years; children Deborah (Brad), Kimberly (Tim) and Donald; four step-children, Wes (Mara), David (Chris), Donna (Scott) and Don (Brenda); many grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and brothers Bob, Wilbur, Bud, Richard and Wendell, all of Washington. Hugh was a gentle, quiet man with a dry sense of humor who loved his family and his animals. He enjoyed family camping, snow and water skiing, football and reading. His real love was construction, which was his life’s work. He was loved and will be greatly missed. A celebration of Hugh’s life will be at 11 a.m., May 6, at Calvary Chapel in Prescott.
