Family Searches for Answers After Shootout
by Kevin Turner
After self-proclaimed mountain man Martin J. Price died in a shootout with Yavapai County Sheriff's Deputies Thursday, his family members were left with questions. Kris Lorentzen and Vern Price, the sister and father of the adamant survivalist, have retained an attorney to find out the answers. The family already knows that Price, 40, had lived for at least the past two years in the rocky plateau land between Date Creek, Yarnell, Bagdad and Prescott. They say they're not so sure about anything else. The shootout occurred south of Hillside (aabout 35 miles north of Wickenburg). Martin Price died about 2 p.m. Thursday in a shootout with the Yavapai County Sheriff's Department officers who had discovered his hiding place, a Yavapai County spokesperson said.
