TOM (Wallace B) THOMAS

Tom (Wallace B) Thomas went home to be with the Lord on March 6, 2002. He was 82.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

He was born to Lloyd and Anna Thomas, on March 24, 1919 in Carrington, N.D.

He spent most of his adult life as a working cowboy in South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming and Arizona. For several years, he sold cars in local dealerships. He also owned a business and made custom saddles in Hulett, Wyo.

Tom was a longtime resident of the community, living in Wickenburg since 1953. He served his country in World War II with the U.S. Army, as a radio operator in the South Pacific.

He is survived by his wife Karen; son Carson Thomas and his wife Billie; daughter Carol McRann and her husband Dan, daughter Lori Johnston and Dave Walter; stepdaughter Kellie Tikkun and stepson Kenton Merrick and his wife Tonya; brother Howard Thomas; and sister Donna Bennett.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Callie Thomas, Lacie, Kasten, Dustie Young, Ambershea Terhune, Joshua Copus, Kaylon Copus, Richard Williams, Trevor Johnston, Wendy Johnston, Zach Merrick and Luke Merrick. Seven great- grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of Tom's life was held on Monday (March 11) at Calvary Baptist Church of Wickenburg. Pastor Gary Golike officiated.

Burial followed in the Wickenburg Municipal Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Advancing Native Missions, P.O. Box 5303, Charlottesville, VA 22905, or the Tom Thomas Cowpuncher Poetry Fund at the Wickenburg Bank of America.
