The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona Tuesday, February 2, 2010 Elda Anetta Hunt Wiltbank, 84, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010, in Springerville. She was born July 25, 1925, in Waterflow, N.M., to Charles and Charlotte Mattice Hunt. In 1944 Elda was married to Alden Lyle Wiltbank in Mesa. She was sealed to Alden in the Mesa Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints July 13, 1946. Elda and Alden started their lives together in Eagar. She spent her working years at Crosby Lumber Company and retired from the Round Valley School District, where she worked as the head secretary to the principles that were there. After Alden passed away at an early age, she was blessed with two other families. Elda then married Charles Agustus "Gus" Gibbons July 26, 1969, and later married to Wallace Edwin Burk Aug. 2, 1986. During the time that Elda was married to "Gus," they enjoyed family, friends and the outdoors, including but not limited to camping, fishing and traveling in their recreational vehicle. Elda and "Gus" were very active with the Apache County Sheriff's Posse. Elda and Wallace enjoyed many years of service in the church, including serving a mission in the Singapore, Malaysia Mission, two years as ordinance workers in the Mesa Temple and two years over the regional cannery. Elda enjoyed life and being home in the White Mountains. Anytime she was away, she longed to be home and has now gone to her Heavenly Home. Elda is survived by her sons Charles (Stacy Meacham) Wiltbank of Gilbert; William "Richard" Thomas (Marion) Wiltbank of Eagar and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and son John Alden Wiltbank. A viewing will be held Friday, Feb. 5, from 6-8 p.m. at Burnham Mortuary in Eagar. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 6, at 11 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Amity Building in Eagar with viewing one hour prior.
