Carmen C. "Harpo" Arbizu, 72, of Avondale died from cancer Jan. 28, 2010, in Goodyear.

Mr. Arbizu was born April 1, 1937, in Phoenix. He worked as a carpenter and served in the Army Reserves. He was a member of the Intruders Car Club.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth "Cookie"; three daughters, Annette Montoya, Belinda Gortarez and Rhonda Hernandez; three sons, James, Daniel Bustamante and Hector Bustamante; five sisters; five brothers; and 25 grandchildren.

Visitation was Feb. 4. A Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Tolleson, with interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery.

Carmen C. Arbizu "Harpo" Born April 1, 1937. Harpo was peacefully called home by God surrounded by his family after a short yet brave battle with cancer on January 28, 2010.

He was preceded in death by his parents Carmen and Aurora Arbizu, and one brother Fernando Manuel Arbizu (Nando). He was a native of Arizona. A Carpenter by trade, was known to whistle and sing while he worked. He loved his family, music, dancing and had a huge passion for golf. Harpo was loved by family, many many friends who knew him as "Tata". He was an active member of the Intruders Car Club, he was the oldest at age 72. Harpo also served in the Army Reserves.

He is survived by his loving wife Ruth (Cookie), his daughters Annette Montoya, Belinda (Johnny) Gortarez & Rhonda Hernandez, sons James Arbizu, Daniel Bustamante & Hector Bustamante, 25 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, also five brothers and five sisters.

Visitation will be Thursday February 4, from 5-7 PM with Rosary at 7 PM.

Funeral Mass will be Friday February 5 at 10 AM at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 512 N. 93rd Avenue in Tolleson, AZ. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 10045 W. Thomas Road in Avondale, AZ.

He will be dearly missed by his wife, children, brothers and sisters and all who knew him. Rest in peace, we will love you forever.
