| The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona December 1, 2009 Samuel N. Gardom (Sam) died Nov. 25, 2009, at the BeeHive Home in Eagar. He was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Globe. Sam worked for his father in the plumbing profession and for the City of Springerville as an equipment operator and eventually as Public Works Director. Upon retirement he served on the Springerville Town Council and as Vice Mayor. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening and spending time with family and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Muriel; daughter Leslie (Russ) Smith; grandsons, Bradley and Tanner; son Sam Jr.; brothers, Jim (Kathy), Robert (Elaine), Ronald (Brenda); sisters Beverly, Felecia and Cindy and close family friend Patty Orona. He was preceded in death by his father, Preston; mother Dorothy (Peters) and brother Donald. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at the Community Presbyterian Church in Springerville. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association Burnham Mortuary handled the arrangements. |
