Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Friday, May 9, 2008 Gregory M. Monroe died May 6, 2008, at YRMC in Prescott Valley, Ariz. He was born July 25, 1977, in Phoenix, Ariz., the son of Paul W. and Eileen M. (Cooney) Monroe. Greg was 30 years old. Greg was raised in Prescott, where he graduated from Prescott High School. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oasis, Special Olympics in bowling, basketball and field and track, in Santa Barbara and Prescott Valley. Greg enjoyed Diamondback games, playing basketball, visiting with his brothers, trips to Disneyland, and especially the trips to Ireland and Mazatlan. He was proudest of his gold medal for Special Olympics in Bowling and his vegetable garden. Greg is survived by his mother, Eileen Martin, and father Paul Monroe, both of Prescott; and his brothers, Christopher of Chino Valley, David of Mesa and Kevin of Prescott. Rosary service will be 7 p.m. Monday, May 12, 2008, at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home, corner of Cortez and Carleton, with visitation one hour prior. Celebration of Greg’s Life Mass will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 13, 2008, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 150 Fleury, Prescott, Ariz. Final commendation and farewell will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at All Souls Catholic Cemetery, 700 N. Bill Gray Road, Cottonwood, Ariz. The family suggests memorials in Greg’s name to Antelope Point Industries, 2727 Lake Valley Road, Prescott Valley, AZ 86314.
