Elisabeth E. (Whelan) Wade

Elisabeth E. Wade died at home on April 30, at the age of 93. She was the daughter of Annie Laurie Whelan of Minnesota and Sam Hill, a developer of roads and railroads in the Pacific Northwest. His home, now the Maryhill Museum of Art in Goldendale, Wash., became a focal point of Liz’s lifelong interest in art and art history.

She was a graduate of Stanford University, Class of 1936, and a founding member of Prescott Art Docents.

Liz was married to William B. Wade for 52 years and is survived by sons, William, Jr. and wife Paula Cizik of Houston, Texas, Patrick and wife Carolyn of Eugene, Ore., Timothy and wife Deborah of Bogota, Colombia; seven grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

A memorial fund to support the study of art has been established in her name at the Prescott Public Library, 215 E. Goodwin St., Prescott.
