Calvin James Olson, 81, passed away on Dec. 29, 2007, in Phoenix, Ariz.

Calvin was born May 5, 1926, in Glover, N.D. The family moved to Lisbon, N.D., where Calvin graduated from high school in 1945. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army 1944-1946 and again in the North Dakota National Guard 1951-1952. Mr. Olson moved to California in 1954 and was with Kaiser Steel in Fontana, Calif., for 16 years. On Sept. 29, 1962, (Ole) married Helen Ruth Davis, (Ruthie), of San Bernardino and set up residence, and later, in Devore. In 1986, the family moved to Chino Valley, Ariz., and to Prescott in 1993. Mr. and Mrs. Olson moved to Phoenix in 2007 to be closer to family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and one nephew. He was survived by his loving wife of 45 years; two sons, Gary Olson of Phoenix, Ariz., and David Olson of Gilbert, Ariz.; brother Art Olson of Dickenson, N.D.; eight grandchildren; four nieces; two nephews; five grandnieces; and eight grandnephews.
