David Elias Pacheco, 95, born July 20, 1912, in Rainsville, N.M., died Wednesday, May 21, 2008, at the Arizona Pioneers’ Home in Prescott.

Mass will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2008, at Sacred Heart Church in Prescott. A reception will follow the service at the church. The committal service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Prescott National Cemetery with honors provided by the Post 6 Honor Guard.

Hampton Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

David E. Pacheco passed away on May 21, 2008, just two months shy of his 96th birthday, at the Arizona Pioneers’ Home.

David was born in Rainsville, N.M., on July 20, 1912, to Dionicio Pacheco and Endelecia Casias Pacheco.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Angelita Pacheco; his sons Roy Pacheco (Stephanie) and Ed Pacheco (Jeannie); granddaughters Michelle Spetic (Frank) and Stephanie Kelly (David); and his great-grandchildren Austin, Kristian and Gabriella.

David worked 42 years as a miner in several Arizona mines including Jerome, Superior, Ray, Kerny and retired from Magna Copper Co. in San Manuel.

Serving in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater, David was stationed in Japan.

He was recently recognized as a 50-year member of the American Legion Ernest A. Love Post 6.

David enjoyed dancing at the Pine Cone Inn, gardening and traveling to Laughlin.

He was dearly loved and will be missed by his family and friends.

Hampton Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
