Josephine Denogean Machado

Josephine Denogean "Nana" Machado, 87, died June 11 [2003]. She was born in Gleason and was a longtime resident of Superior.

She was a girl Scout leader and was active in the Cursillistas, Social Club, Sonerense Club, and Porfirio Diaz. She worked as a chef for many years and owned two restaurants and a deli.

Survivors include three children and their spouses, Daniel and Gloria Avendano, Barbara and Jerry Compos, and Sandra and Steve Aguilar; three brothers, Raymond, Frank and Edward Denogean; three sisters, theresa Lugo, Mary Lou DeLeon and Tillie Peralta; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was conducted June 16 at Silver King Baptist Church in Superior.

Interment was in Superior Fairview Cemetery.

Miles Mortuary handled arrangements.
