Michael Leslie Consoer left his earthly body and began his new life in heaven May 14, 2008, at 9 p.m. after a battle with cancer.

Born Sept. 5, 1958, in Worthington, Minn., Mike grew up in Ocheyedan, Iowa, attending elementary school at Zion Lutheran and Ocheyedan High School through graduation. He received his Associates Degree in accounting from Nettleton Junior College in Sioux Falls, S.D. He moved to Arizona in 1978, and was married to Deborah Kay Bauer on June 9, 1979. He worked at Sound Packaging, located in Chandler, as a customer service manager in the container industry. His favorite hobby was playing the organ, and he was the organist at Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church for many years.

He is survived by his wife Deborah; son Kristopher and wife Juanita Consoer; daughter Melinda and husband Jason Langston; granddaughter Kalyn Langston; mother and father Marilyn and Les Consoer; and brothers Neal, Monte and Mark Consoer.

The memorial services were 6:30 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2008, at Emmaus Evangelical Lutheran Church located at 3841 W. Sweetwater Ave., Phoenix, Ariz., with Pastor Ross Else officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Mike’s grandchildren and all contributions can be sent to Desert Schools Federal Credit Union, Post Office Box 2942, Phoenix, AZ 85062. (Make checks payable to “Memorial Fund of Michael L. Consoer.”)
