Matthew Adam Manggold

Matthew Adam Manegold, 28 of Flagstaff, Arizona killed in a tragic car accident on November 8, 2007. He was born October 8, 1979 in Reading, PA; the son of Joe and Lynda (Adams) Manegold.

Matt graduated in 1998 from Central Catholic High School in Reading, PA. He earned a associate degree in science from Yavapai College in Prescott, AZ. Matt was currently in his final year at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff. He would have received his bachelor’s degree in Forrestry. Matt truly loved the outdoors. He hiked and climbed from the redwood forests of the Pacific Northwest, the Rocky Mountains and his home town local trails by Antietam Lake.

He is survived by his parents: Joe and Lynda, of Douglassville, PA; brother, David (Namoi Fritz) of Reading, PA. sister, Melissa (Jason Van Aalsburg) of Portland, Oregon; grandparents Gerald & Jennie Manegold and Dorothy Adams, all from Reading, PA.

The love and support of our family and so many close friends has given us the strangth to cross this abyss; especially Matt’s other close brothers and sisters; Rhoads, Brandon, Bob. T.J. Bryant, Jada, Emily, Alicia, Cait and all the others to numerous to list.

A herd of mountain elk witnessed Matthew, our beautiful, loving son and brother being senselessy taken from us. Matt was a kind and gentle soul. His energy and spirit touched everyone who knew him and his passing creates a void in the universe.

A Celebration of Matthew’s life Mass will be 11:00 a.m. November 13, 2007 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Douglassville. PA. final commendation will be at Gethsemane Cemetery following the mass.

In lieu of flowers please plant a tree, water it with love and remember Matt as it grows strong and happy.
