Donald Wayne McLeod passed away May 25, 2008, at the VA hospital in Prescott, Ariz., from cancer. He was 68 years old.

Don was born on Aug. 7, 1939, in Vancouver, B.C., Canada. When he was 14 years old, his family immigrated and he became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America in 1953. He resided in Atwood, Ill., and in 1958, he enlisted in the U.S. Army.

Upon discharge from the Army in 1961, Don soon began his career with TWA Airlines. His amiable personality and skills placed him in customer service in many areas of his career and he enjoyed traveling the world over.

Don lived many years in the Phoenix area and moved to Prescott approximately 20 years ago. He will be greatly missed by his neighbors on South Alarcon Street. He was the neighborhood caregiver, gentleman friend and helper in times of need. His pride in his lovely award-winning yard and flowers was enjoyed by all. All agree that it can be said of Don, “A good neighbor – a found treasure.”

Don was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. McLeod, and mother, Lillian McLeod. He is survived by a brother, Grant Allen McLeod of Phoenix, Ariz.

Burial will take place at Green Acres Memorial Gardens in Scottsdale, Ariz.
