Eddie J. Babbitt

Eddie J. Babbitt was born June 21, 1935, to Phyllis and Edward Babbitt in San Bernardino, Calif. He passed away May 27, 2008, in Scottsdale, Ariz., after a long bout with cardiac and pulmonary disease.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia Brakebill Babbitt; sister Thelma Ingram; and daughters Lisa Mazal, April Hurley and Janie Dakan. He also has 13 grandchildren.

Eddie was a 50-year member of IBEW Electrical Union. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors. In his spare time, he could be found in his workshop welding anything from metal, as well as making belt buckles. He loved reloading ammo and had an extensive gun collection. Eddie was a member of the National Rifle Association and the local Elks Club.

Funeral arrangements are being made by Bobbitt Mortuary, 1299 E. Highland Ave., San Bernardino, Calif.

A funeral mass will be on Monday, June 2, 2008, at St. Adelaides Catholic Church in Highland, Calif.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association in Eddie’s name.
