Bernard James Gruidl, Sr., 72, of Wickenburg died Sunday, June 13, 1993, at the Wickenburg Nursing Home.

He was born in Spokane, Washington, and moved to the California East Bay area where he attended San Jose State College, taught industrial arts at Laney College and several high schools. His 30-year career with Benner-Nawman Co. started as a product developer in Oakland, Calif., and brought him to Wickenburg in 1971. He was a member of Desert Caballeros.

Mr. Gruidl was preceded in death by five brothers and a sister.

He is survived by his wife, Eleanor; son, Bernard, Jr., of Berkeley, Calif.; daughters Mary of Alamo, Calif. and Elizabeth of Kauai, Hawaii; grandchildren Brian, Rebecca, Eleanor and Thomas Cooney.

Visitation will be today, Wednesday, June 16, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. at Wickenburg Funeral Home. California services will be held on Friday, June 18, at 10:30 a.m. at Spencer Mortuary, Redwood Rd., Castro Valley, Calif., followed by interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Haywood, Calif.

Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 2323 S. Hardy Dr., Tempe, AZ 85282.

Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
