Frank Bergen Thompson of Rio Rancho, N. M., a former Wickenburg resident, died Thursday, May 6, 1993, at Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, N. M. He was 74.

He was born Sept. 30, 1918, in White Rocks, Utah, and had lived in Wickenburg for six years prior to moving to Rio Rancho.

He attended the University of Utah for two years. Mr. Thompson was a WWII veteran, a B-17 pilot for the Army Air Corps and a prisoner of war in Germany for 15 months. He managed an Indian Jewelry Store in Gallup for 30 years an retired from Tobe Turpens in 1985. He was an arts and crafts judge for Gallup Indian Ceremonial and O'Odam Tash in Casa Grande. While he lived in Wickenburg, he served on the museum board and was an active member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Thompson of Rio Rancho; daughter and son-in-law Ann Marie and Tom Ray of Gallup; brother and sister-in-law Stewart and Jean Thompson of Sedona; sister and brother-in-law Estill and Marshall Wilson of Prescott; sister Carolyn Johnson of Wickenburg; grandson Brian Pierce of Gallup; two nephews and five nieces.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Louis Thompson and Sister Mary Frick.

Memorial services will be held today (Wednesday, May 12, 1993) at 10 a.m. at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Wickenburg with Father Dan Gerrard officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice in Albuquerque.
