Saturday rites for James Whittemore

Funeral services for JAMES M. WHITTEMORE, 91, were held last Saturday morning in the Wickenburg Chapel with the Rev. Wayman Mitchell, pastor of the foursquare Church, officiating.

Following cremation the remains were buried in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

Mr. Wittemore died in Community Hospital Thursday morning of last week.

Born January 23, 1871, in North Carolina, Mr. Whittemore was a freight clerk for the “Southern pacific railroad from 1898 until his retirement in 1938. He spent most of that time in Redlands, Calif. He moved to Wickenburg six years ago.

Surviving are a son, Marion Whittemore of Santa Monica, Calif.; two daughter, Mrs. Eugenia Stewart of Brawley, Calif.; and Mrs. Ida Belle LaGasse of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
