Services Tuesday for Maurice Holt

Funeral services for MAURICE HOLT were held in the Wickenburg Chapel at 3 o’clock last Tuesday afternoon with Dr. Charles S. Poling officiating.

Burial followed in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

Mr. Holt, who had been in ill health for about a month, was admitted to Community Hospital last Saturday morning. He died at 9:45 o’clock the following morning.

Born in Paris, Miss., November 14, 1906, Mr. Holt was a farmer there until he came to Wickenburg in 1937. He and Mrs. Holt spent one year here and then returned to Paris for a year. In 1939 they came to Wickenburg again and have resided here since then. The Holt home is 2 ½ miles east of town off the Phoenix highway.

Mr. Holt had carried the mail on the Morristown to Castle Hot springs route since 1941.

Surviving are the widow, Allie; one son, Keith of Winslow; the mother, Mrs. Ada L. Holt of Memphis, Tenn.; two brothers, Horace of St. Augustine, Fla. And Emmett of Water Valley, Miss; three sister, Mrs. Katheryn Young of Memphis, Tenn., Mrs. Christine Hutcheson of Denton, Texas, and Mrs. Faye Pigford of Birmingham, Ala; and three grandchildren.
