Merle A. Brown

Merle A. Brown went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 5:40 a.m. He was born Aug. 28, 1923.

He is survived by his wife Eileen Brown of 60 years; his son Terry M. Brown, the previous owner and director of Brown's Wickenburg Funeral Home and a Wickenburg resident from 1976 to 2000; his daughter Sherry (Kindrick) Brown of Glendale, Ariz.; and daughter Toni M. Hershkowitz a Wickenburg resident since 1978.

Merle was a frequent visitor of the Wickenburg area. He had the pleasure of enjoying three Desert Caballeros Rides with his son and local friends. He retired 30 years ago from the City of Phoenix and moved to Leslie, Ark., where he pioneered the TMB Angus Ranch.

Merle enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren a great deal. He had 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Merle served in the U.S. Navy during World War II as a Fireman First Class in Submarine Division 222 aboard the USS Shark and the USS Blueback. He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post in Leslie, Ark.

His hobbies and interests included breeding and raising Black Angus cattle, gardening, canning, fishing and raising deer. He enjoyed woodcarving and crafts.

Private services at Menke Funeral Home were held on Oct. 19.
