It is with the deepest of sorrows that we announce the death of Bruce N. Champlin of Wickenburg, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother, who passed away at home on Sunday, Oct. 16, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Bruce Champlin was born on July 30, 1930, in Detroit, Mich., to Walter Champlin and Gladys Hackney Champlin.

The family moved to Wickenburg in 1947. Bruce attended Wickenburg High School and after graduation served in the Army during the Korean conflict.

He met the popular Wickenburg girl, Nadine Macias and they were married on April 21, 1956 in St. Anthony's Catholic Church.

He is survived by daughter Christine Pierce of Camp Verde and son David Champlin of Glendale; his son-in-law David Pierce, daughter-in-law Cindy Radavich Champlin; grandchildren D.J. Pierce, Katie Pierce, Jake and Matt Champlin; and one great-grandson, Anthony Evans; sister Dorothy Carroll; brother-in-law Manuel Macias and wife Dolly of Wickenburg; sister-in-law Ersie Macias Randolph and husband Ervan of Surprise, Ariz. Nephews and nieces also survive him: Ray Carol and Susan Carroll Fox, Julie Macias Brooks, Debbie Macias Griffiths, Mike Macias, Frank Macias, Alex Macias, Carol Randolph Rupert, John Randolph, and Edwin Randolph. Bruce is also survived by many wonderful friends whom he enjoyed friendships with.

Bruce retired from Wickenburg Community Hospital; was an avid golfer, holding membership at the Wickenburg Country Club for over 50 years, a past member of the Wickenburg Volunteer Fire Department, and a charter member of Wickenburg Elks Lodge 2160. A celebration of life will be held this Sunday, Oct. 23, at noon at the Wickenburg Country Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wickenburg Country Club Junior Golf account at Bank One.

Arrangements are under the direction of Frey-Wickenburg Funeral Home.
