Helen Virginia (Vanderpool) Williams

Helen Virginia Williams of Wickenburg passed away on Sunday, Nov. 6. She was born June 1, 1921 in Lincoln, Neb., to Leota Furgason and Merrill Vanderpool.

She grew up in Hemmingford, Neb., and attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. She was a medical secretary when she met and married Guy H. Williams, Jr. in 1941. Helen and husband Guy came to Scottsdale, Ariz., in 1981 and then moved to Wickenburg in 1996.

She loved the desert plants, topography and climate of the desert southwest.

Helen was a member of PEO Chapter DR, and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Wickenburg. Helen was an accomplished equestriene and owned, showed and enjoyed many horses throughout her life.

She was interested in many hobbies including piano playing, gardening, stained glass work, watercolor and oil painting. Her beloved dogs were a very important part of her life.

Helen was preceded in death by Guy, her husband of 63 years, in 2004.

Survivors include her daughters Jane Coleman and Cheryl Bush; granddaughter Lisa Corboy and grandson Mark Danielson; two great grandchildren; and sons-in-law Earl Coleman and Robert Bush.
