Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg, Arizona October 19, 2005 Harley Elton Lewis, Sr. of Sun Lakes, Ariz., passed away October 11, 2005. Harley was born in Bellingham, Wash., in 1918 to Walter and Velona Lewis. He served his country, enlisting in the Navy in World War II and fought in the South Pacific. He later moved to Alaska with his wife, making his first trip up the coast in 1938 with his wife and father-in-law in a small fishing boat. While there he started the Alaskan Cab Co., owned the Alaskan Bar, the Marine View Apartments, and other real estate investments. He moved to Wickenburg, Ariz., about 25 years ago and opened the Fireside Lounge. His last investment adventure was to partner in ownership of the Hidden Inlet Lodge in southeast Alaska. In his leisure time he enjoyed expanding his collection of over 600 Jim Beam whiskey collector bottles. Harley leaves as his survivors his son Harley (Farrel) Lewis Jr. of Ketchikan, Alaska, and his sister Norabelle (Eldon) Hunt of Hemet, Calif. Also surviving him are his grandchildren Jim Lewis of Ketchikan, Alaska, and Tim (Diane) Lewis of Boise, Idaho; his great-grandchildren Jennifer, Christina, Kevin, Sean, Caitlyn, Janelle, and Cory; his great-great-grandchildren Trevin, Natalie, and Kiara; as well as many more family and friends who all loved him dearly. Harley is predeceased by his parents Walter Raymond and Velona Olivia Lewis, his brothers Raymond Lewis, Clifford Lewis, and Leland "Lee" Lewis, and his grandson Mark Lewis.
