Gail (Gerry) (Warren) Benninger

Gail Benninger, age 63, of Prescott, died July 28, 2005. Gerry was born June 17, 1942, in Durango, Colo., the daughter of George and Susan Warren.

Gerry worked as a freelance writer and poet, book editor and reviewer, teacher and theologian. She pursued a lifelong dream of education and writing, graduating Arizona State University, with a BA in English, Magna cum Laude, at the age of 46, and went on to achieve her MA degree
in theology, Magna cum Laude, from the University of San Francisco at the age of 60.

Gerry published her poems, short stones and articles on the written word
in numerous magazines and newspapers. In addition, she was the past President of Arizona Author's Association and Editor of the Arizona Literary Magazine. She was also a columnist for Romantic Times Maga-
zine and a book reviewer for that book club. She shared everything of herself and her work with her family, was cherished and will be lovingly missed.

Gerry is survived by her daughters, Robin Woodard (Thomas Jr.), Therese Benninger-Ellis, and Barbara Benninger-Palmer (Cary); her sisters, Betty Brooks (Prescott) and Doris Zier (Pagosa Springs, Co.), and
her brother, George Warren (Scottsdale). Gerry is also survived by her
grandfather, Harold K. Scripter of Rio Ranch, N.M. and six
grandchildren; Thomas III, Michael, Joshua, Chelsea, Charia and Marissa, many nieces and nephews, an Aunt and Uncle.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John F. Benninger and son, Frederick J. Benninger, her mother and father, grandmother, Harriet Scripter and brother, David J. Warren.

A memorial mass will be held Monday, Aug 15, 2005 at 10 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 150 Fleury Ave., Prescott.
