Spero (Sam) Fakis

Sam Fakis – Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday of this week at the Wickenburg Funeral Home for Spero (Sam) Fakis, a long time resident of Wickenburg, who died at a local rest home February 19.

Mr. Fakis was born February 20, 1894, in Crete, Greece.

He built, and owned, the building housing the Dairy Queen on the Prescott Highway. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

The Rev. Gus Tuttle of St. Alan’s conducted the funeral services and burial was in the Wickenburg Cemetery.

The only survivor in this country is a niece, Mrs. Margaret Twist of San Francisco.
