Ray Bramsen – the death of Ray Bramsen August 29 in the Marcus J. Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Cottonwood, Ariz., was received with sadness by the many friends he made here during a residence which covered a considerable span of years.

He was 71 years of age. He had been admitted to the hospital the night of August 28 suffering from a stroke and died a few hours later.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. August 31 at the Westcott Funeral Home in Cottonwood with graveside services at 3 p.m. the same day at the Green Acres Cemetery in Scottsdale.

A native of Iowa, Mr. Bramsen was prominently indentifies with the retail automobile sales business in that state for 40 years in the Cedar Rapids area before moving to Wickenburg in 1950. He was General Motors dealer here until 1965 and after a brief residence in Phoenix, moved in the Verde Valley where he was a petroleum products distributor for the Mobil Oil Co. He and Mrs. Bramsen have maintained their residence in Sedona for the past eight years.

He was a member of the Elks and Odd Fellows Lodges; a charter member of the Verde Vaqueros riding group of Scottsdale and a member of the General Motors Men’s Sales Organization.

He is survived by his wife Merle; a son Phil of Mesa; three sisters out of state and four grandchildren.
Although he left Wickenburg, Mrs. Bramsen never lost his interest in and enthusiasm for this town, visiting her frequently and enjoying many deep local friendships. He and Mrs. Bramsen were devoted and skilled horsemen.
