Wickenburg Sun, Wickenburg Arizona December 14, 1972, page 2 George “Elmer” Roberts, 58, of Yarnell, died Thursday Dec. 7 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Phoenix. Born May 6, 1914 at Fort Bridger, Wyo., he had been a resident of Yavapai County for the last 40 years, living in Yarnell the past 25 years. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He operated the Desert View Trading Post for 15 years, and had been president of the Universal Drilling and Supply Co. of Yarnell. He is survived by his wife Nellie, a son Stephen of Yarnell, 2 daughters, Mrs. Sien of Carlsbad, N.M., Ann Roberts of Yarnell, 2 step-daughters, Mrs. Connie Thomsen, Warm Springs, Ark., and Mrs. Deborah Wilmeth of Phoenix, 2 step-sons, Fred and Wayne Moore, Yarnell; 3 brothers, Bob of Wickenburg, Frank and Dan, out of state; 3 sisters, Mrs. Lola Biggs, Apache Junction, Mrs. Alta Nibarger and Mrs. Betty Roe out of state. Also 13 grandchildren. Services were held at 2 p.m. on December 11 at the LDS Church in Prescott with burial in Mr. View Cemetery. |
