Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Monday, March 29, 2004 James Robert (Bob) Mosby was born Nov. 4, 1938, and died March 22, 2004. Bob was the first son and third child born to James Robert Mosby, Sr,, and Lucille (Bryant) Mosby, in Tucson. Bob and his two sisters, JoAnn and Lucille, grew up and attended school in Phoenix. In 1944, their brother Allan was born in Phoenix. After high school, Bob enlisted in the Army. He was stationed for a short time at Fort Devins in Massachusetts, and spent several years stationed in Budigan, Germany. When he returned home, he attended Phoenix College. On Feb. 14, 1965, Bob and Chelle (Dreyfus) were married in Las Vegas, Nev. Bob and Chelle moved to Phoenix from Los Angeles in 1968, until 1979. During this time, Bob worked for State Farm Insurance Company. In June 1979, Bob and Chelle returned to California to operate their own business producing pictorial directories for churches and other organizations. He was very proud of his successes in reorganizing and expanding his business through out the Midwest and adding five states to their company. In 1986, Bob moved their business to Prescott to be closer to his aging parents. In 1990, they sold their business and retired. Bob very much enjoyed home improvement projects over the years. While living in Phoenix, he designed and built their swimming pool, as well as a room addition and garage. While living in Prescott, he was continually working on projects at home including landscaping his acre of property with over 15 full-size trees, numerous smaller ones, and shrubbery. Bob built a fireplace and added windows throughout their home to enjoy the beautiful views of Prescott. Bob enjoyed investing in the stock market, as well as following politics and current events; Bob was an avid NASCAR fan and would travel to attend races around the county. He loved children, particularly his nieces, Julie Brammer, Debra Grimes, Elizabeth, Natasha and Sarah Warren, and Ashley Mosby. He also enjoyed hrs nephews, Sam Dreyfus, John Warren and John Mosby. He also was very happy with his cats and dogs, and he was a regular contributor to the Humane Society. Bob's health began to decline with the loss of his father in 1994, his sister in 1996, and his mother in 1999. Bob had cared for his mother during the last four years of her life and was deeply affected by her loss. His health continued to decline and Bob was unable to continue with any of his lifelong activities. He had become an invalid, in 2002. On March 22, 2004, Bob joined his parents and sister, JoAnn, with the Lord. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 30, at the Arizona Pioneers' Home Cemetery, in Prescott. Information provided by survivors. |
