William Edward Armitage

William Edward Armitage, 90, died Oct. 25, 2003 in Vernon.

Mr. Armitage was born in Warm Springs, New Jersey. He grew up in Wyoming and received his education there. He worked in the logging woods while attending high school and also for a time after. He attended college at the University of Wyoming in Laramie for two years.

In 1947 he moved his family to Southern California where he worked as a mechanist in the aerospace industry until he retired in 1983. He moved to Vernon last May. He enjoyed going into the mountains fishing and enjoyed the open spaces and fresh air.

He is survived by his daughter, Jo Lee Cooper of Show Low; one son, William Armitage, Jr. of Pahrcemp, Nevada; and four grandchildren.

A private time of remembrance will be held by the family.
