Soliel Jerusha Solomon, 30, of Prescott Valley, born. Jan. 20, 1974, in Flecher, N.C., died in a car accident near Sedona on Tuesday, March 30, 2004.

A gathering of friends will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 7, at the Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home in Prescott, with a sharing tribute at 6 p.m.

Soleil Jerusha Solomon, 30, of Prescott Valley, died in a car accident early Tuesday, March 30, 2004.

She was on her way home from Flagstaff Medical Center where she worked as a labor and delivery nurse. Soleil, who preferred working night shifts, was driving south on I-17 when the accident occurred.

Born in Hendersonville, North Carolina, on January 20, 1974, Soleil attended the Prescott public schools from 1984-1990. She lived in Phoenix and Tusayan until 1993, when she returned to Prescott. In 1995 she was admitted to the nursing program at Yavapai College, where she graduated with honors in 1997.

As a child and teenager, Soleil was active in the performing arts. In addition to Prescott Fine Arts Association productions, she had a speaking role in "The Zoo Gang" which was filmed in Prescott in 1985,
and allowed Soleil to join the Screen Actors Guild. Later that year, Soleil was crowned 'Junior Miss Arizona.'

Independent and strong-willed, Soleil became a devoted mother in 2002 when she gave birth to a daughter, Paisley Tess Solomon, now 20 months old.

In addition to Paisley, Soleil is survived by her parents, David and Alanna Solomon; her grandparents, Genevieve Gomo, Jack and Natalie Solomon; her uncles, Isaiah Solomon, Steven Gomo and Tim Gomo; Barry Adier; step siblings Erica and Anthony Fareio; and Paisley's father, Joseph Wohl.

There will he a celebration of life at Arizona Ruffner Wakelin funeral home on Wednesday, April 7, between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m.

There will be a sharing of thoughts at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the fund created for Paisley at the Stockman's bank, account number 1103029946.
