Joseph Paul Aguilar, 88, of Shawnee, born Dec. 11, 1919, in Winton, Wyo., passed away Tuesday, June 17, 2008, at his residence.

Joseph Paul Aguilar was the son of Baltisar Aguilar and Mercedes (San-chez) Aguilar. He received a Masters Degree in Education from the University of Southern California. Joe worked as a teacher and elementary school principal in California. He married Mary Lee McLendon on May 14, 1946. Joe served in the United States Navy from 1940 to 1946. He was a member of the Elks Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; two sisters, Jessie Aguilar and Pat Bergren; two brothers, George and Frances Aguilar.

Survivors include a son Scott Aguilar and wife Kim of Whittier, Calif.; one daughter Bonnie Andreani and husband Mario of Shawnee; five grandchildren, Chip and wife Amy, Jenny, Matthew, Katie and Joseph; two great-grandchi ldren, Ethan and Emma; one sister Louise Robinson; and several nieces, nephews and other family and friends

Memorial services will take place at Memory Garden Memorial Park in Brea, Calif., at a later date.
