Valdin, Bruno Henry 91, of Mesa, AZ passed away March 8, 2010, surrounded by family. Henry was a devoted husband, brother, father, uncle, grandfather and friend. Born, November 15, 1918 in Bisbee, Henry later moved to Superior, where he graduated high school. He proudly served in WWII, on the USS Girardi as a sonar operator. After the war, he returned to Superior and was very involved in his community as a volunteer firefighter and fire chief, ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church, and Master Mason (Ray-Winkelman Masonic Lodge). He retired from the Magma Copper Company and lived in Chandler and Mesa, AZ and Farmington, NM.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents John and Ida, his brother Frans and his wife of 59 years, Violet. He is survived by his children, Norma Kay Herrera (Carter), Mesa, AZ and Dr. John R. Valdin (Juliana), Danville, CA; five grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and a large, loving family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The visitation will be at 11:30 am Saturday March 13, 2010, the funeral service will follow at 12:30 pm both at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel, 7900 E. Main St., Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607. Arrangements by Mountain View Funeral Home (480-832-2850).
