Rose (Zahoranszky) McCormick

Rose McCormick passed away April 4, 2004, in Prescott. She was born June 12, 1913, in Budapest, Hungary, to Peter and Elizabeth Zahoranszky.

After coming to the United States in 1921, Rose lived in Bisbee, Ariz., for several years, with her mother and stepfather, Frank Czapar. Until her move to Prescott in 2001, Los Angeles was her home for over 70 years.

She retired from Pacific Bell in 1978, and spent the next several years volunteering for the Neighborhood Action Group, in Hollywood, Calif.

Rose was an animal lover and an avid follower of current events. She enjoyed both the forests and the friendly people of Prescott.

Rose is survived by her two daughters, Kathleen Roeb of Chico, Calif., and Kim Potthast of Prescott; her sister, Irene Pristas of Yonkers, N.Y,; grandchildren, Jim Roeb, Dan Roeb, Ann Marie Roeb and James Potthast. Rose was preceded in death by her husband, James B. McCormick.

No memorial service is planned.
