William Walter Searcy, 78 years young, was born to Amelia Ann and Charles Delbert Searcy in Wynniwood, Okla., on Sept. 1, 1929, and went to be with our Lord on May 29, 2008.

Bill leaves his beloved wife of 25 years Ada and stepchildren Nancy and Andrew Anderson, Eddie Rogers, Ada Jean Rogers, Pamela Christy, and Jimmy Rogers, 15 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. They all loved him dearly and will miss his funny stories.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Geneva Shultz, and brother James Andrew Searcy.

Bill was raised and educated in Shafter, Calif., and graduated from high school in 1947. Shortly thereafter he joined the army, then went into the reserves. After leaving the military, Bill went to work for Santa Fe Railroad as a lineman in communications. He moved to Wickenburg from California for a short time and settled in Aguila in 1972. Bill retired after 37 years with the railroad in November, 1989.

There will be a simple memorial service at the Aguila Bible Community Church on First Street at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 7.
