| Mattie Smith, 89, of Globe died Aug. 6 [2003] at Copper Mountain Inn. Born in Hackett, Ark., she was a homemaker who had lived in Arizona 62 years. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Bettie Lou and Harold Padgett, Maxine and Robert Leist, and Bonnie Jo and W. Joe Beard; nine grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. A graveside service was conducted Aug. 9 at Pinal Cemetery in Central Heights.
