Our beloved "Omi" - Marie Miller - died at home on Jan. 22, 2005, surrounded by family and her many friends. She was born in Nussloch, Germany, to Jahob and Margerethe Gagel.

Marie was loved for her strength of character, her sunny disposition and her 'stories.' She was happiest cooking her favorite German foods for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid knitter and letter writer.

Marie immigrated to America in 1950 with her husband Walter, now deceased. Two years later her daughter Gisela followed. Marie and Walter lived in Grand Rapids, Mich., for over 40 years. Marie worked at General Motors until she retired. She came to Prescott 10 years ago to live with her daughter and son-in-law, where she led a very active life until the very end.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Giseta Foust; son-in-law, Jim Foust; sister Elisabeth Gagel of Nussloch, Germany; grandchildren, Tim Mollema and Tina Fox; and great-grandchildren, Alexandra Mollema, and Chandler and Peighton Fox.

Our family wishes to extend our gratitude to Dr. William Dabney for his loving care and we want to thank all the wonderful helping hands from Hospice Family Care and Yavapai Regional Medical Center.

Private family services will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made in Marie's memory to Hospice Family Care, 100 East Sheldon Street #100, Prescott, AZ 86303.

The family was cared for by Sunrise Funeral Home and Crematory in Prescott Valley.
