Ruby O. (Thompson) Goodman

Ruby O. Goodman, of Prescott, passed away Friday morning, March 4, 2005, at the age of 87, at Prescott Samaritan Village. Ruby was born on a farm in Sesser, Ill., on Aug. 18, 1917, the youngest of eight children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Goodman in 1969; her parents, Elbert and Louella Melvin Thompson; four brothers and three sisters. Ruby is survived by her children, Paul Goodman and his wife, Jean of Parkland, Fla., Janet and her husband, Bruce Logan of Prescott; six grandchildren and their spouses and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ruby was most proud of the years she spent teaching Kindergarten at Norwalk Brethren in Southern California and the Christian Academy of Prescott, for a total of 31 years. Ruby moved to Prescott in 1981, and worked at the Christian Academy, even beyond her retirement age. She loved working with children, which certainly kept her young at heart.

The family sincerely thanks the staff of Prescott Samaritan Village for their special love and care given to Ruby, the past two years.

A Memorial Celebration service will be held at the First Baptist Church, Saturday, March 12, 2005, at 11 a.m., at 148 South Marina St.

Arrangements are entrusted to Heritage Memory Mortuary, in Prescott.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Christian Academy of Prescott, 148 South Marina St., Prescott, Ariz., 86303
