Jim F. Hoover of Congress died at his home Monday, March 29, 1993. He was 71. He was born May 4, 1921, at Weatherford, Texas, and had lived in Arizona since 1971 and in Congress since 1976.

Mr. Hoover was a retired butcher from the Wended Grocery Store. He was a very private person who loved to read and acquire knowledge, which he shared with everyone. He also loved gardening with fruit trees and was a World War II Navy veteran.

Mr. Hoover was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, in 1985. Mr. Hoover is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Gerry and Cindy Hoover of Bloomfield, N. M.; son, Royce Hoover of Bedford, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Bobby Claborn of Monanhans, Texas; brother and sister-in-law Clifford and Weldon Hoover of Austin, Texas; and brother David Hoover of Florence, Texas; sister Sib Hoover of San Antonio, Texas; and grandchildren Eric, Bobbie, Brandi, Gina and Anna.

Services have been held with Pastor Thomas Catlin of Pastor Unity Church of Prescott officiating. Burial will be in the family plot in Florence, Texas. Arizona Ruffner Wakelin Funeral Home of Prescott handled the arrangements.
