Sidney Lee Goodchild of Congress died Feb. 13, 2000 in Phoenix. He was 63.

Mr. Goodchild was born April 3, 1936 in Ottawa, Ill., and had lived in Arizona for 44 years.

He grew up in an Illinois farming community; enlisted in the U. S. Air force; and then relocated to Arizona in the 1950s.

Mr. Goodchild loved flying, was a member of the Elks Lodge, was a framer in the construction industry, and owned and operated 9along with his wife) the Congress Sand & Gravel Company.

He will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife Linda K. of Congress; son Chris Goodchild of California; sister Barbara Behrens of Mesa, Ariz.; niece Kim Behrens of Phoenix; nephew and wife brad and Joyce Behrens of Chandler, Ariz., great-niece Sydney; great-nephew Chase; and extended family members Lindsay and Megan Bledsoe of Congress.

Visitation will be held today (Wednesday, Feb. 16) from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel, and funeral services will be held Thursday (Feb. 17) at 10 a.m. at the Wickenburg Funeral Home Chapel. Pastor Bob Harrison will officiate.

Brown’s Wickenburg Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
