Phyllis Hoover died on June 20, 2008, at her home in Prescott, Ariz.
She was 85 years old. Phyllis was born May 13, 1923, to Delbert and Madge Logan in Goshen, Ind. At a young age she developed a deep love for nursing and music. In high school she met soon-to-be husband and lifetime soul mate, Troy Hoover.

They courted through school and were later separated due to the war. Troy shipped off to Europe as an Army Medic and Phyllis became a cadet nurse. After the war in 1946, Troy and Phyllis married and had a son Steven. She had a great interest in early American History fixtures and spent over 40 years in teaching and making traditional hooked rugs. Phyllis continued to pursue nursing and after moving to Yavapai County became very involved in music. She joined an old-time fiddlers group and later started her own band called Phyllis and Friends. She looked forward to playing at the Acker Night Festival in downtown Prescott in December.

Her family and friends were a big part of her life and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Phyllis is survived by husband Troy E. Hoover of Prescott; son Stephen M. Hoover of Prescott; and brother Charles Logan of Indiana.
